Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China's leading coal production base, has kicked its production into high gear to meet heating needs as cold waves send temperatures plunging in the country.
The country imported 10.83 million tonnes of thermal coal in November, the Coalmint data showed, compared with 12.03 million tonnes in October and 9.45 million tonnes in November 2021.
Brazilian miner Vale SA on Wednesday forecast that it would produce about as much iron ore next year as this year, and its shares fell more than 4% on the muted outlook and forecasts for steadily rising capital expenditure.
