Guangqing Nickel Industry Co. started construction of its 600,000-tpy ferronickel project in Indonesia, Hexun.com reported May 2. 

The project, located in Morowali, Sulawesi Tengah, will employ the rotary kiln electric furnace (RKEF) technology to manufacture Ni 10% ferronickel. Another two 150,000 Kw coal-fired power plants will be also constructed. 

The project is expected to come online in early 2016, the report added.
