On Jul 28^th, Qinghai Baitong started its 30000KVA furnace to produce calcium silicon, which added the supply by more than 1000 tons per month in China.

The ex-work prices including VAT of calcium silicon 30# and 28# stayed at RMB10300-10500/mt and RMB10100-10300/mt. Meanwhile, the calcium silicon export market remained stable with export price of CaSi30# at USD2100-2150/ton FOB. Demand from foreign countries kept weak in August.

The calcium silicon is not expected to warm up as demand keeps weak while supply increases. The price is mainly sustained by the production cost.
