[Ferro-alloys.com] Cored wire market was generally stable in China last week. In Henan province, mainstream ex-work price of Ca98%min∮9㎜Ca wire stayed around RMB13000mt (USD2097/mt) recently. Other cored wires also maintained stable price. Ex-work price of Ca28Si55∮13㎜ CaSi wire stayed at RMB 9800-10000/mt. Ex-work price of C98%∮13㎜ carbon wire stayed at  RMB 4600-4800/mt. Operation of major cored wire manufacturers was generally normal.

According to our investigation, several reduction calcium factories were shut down for environmental reasons in Shanxi Province and they had not resumed production. Current calcium output could not meet market demand and it was likely that calcium price would keep high in the next half of the year.

Cold-rolled strip steel price was still low. In Hebei and Shandong province, the major production areas of cored wire strip steel, mainstream ex-work price of 0.35*55 strip steel stayed at RMB 4000-4200/mt (USD 645-USD677/mt).

In general, cored market would still be weak as steel market could not turn better in the short term.
