[Ferro-Alloys.com]In August, calcium silicon prices in China decreased. The prices were the lowest since 2009. Operating rate was about 60%-70%.In order to keep market share, factories with big pressure continued to work, ignoring few profits. Many big shape CaSi stoves were working well. But nearly all small shape CaSi stoves stopped.  

Until the end of August, quotations were as follows: CaSi30# were RMB10,300-10,400/mt (USD1,677-1,690/mt). Prices of CaSi28# were RMB10,000-10,200/mt (USD1,627-1660/mt). CaSi30# were RMB200/mt (USD33/mt) lower than last month, so did CaSi28#.

Export prices of CaSi30# to India were USD 2,070-2,120/mt FOB and the export volumes were about 200 tons. But main prices were USD 2,070-2,090/mt FOB. So transaction prices were lower than quotations.

Big shape CaSi stoves operating rate was high and CaSi would be in excess of demand.

CaSi price would not decrease again. China would stop some small shape stoves in September and it would not influence CaSi supply.
