High-carbon ferrochrome consumption in the United States increased 1.6% in the first half of this year and low-carbon ferrochrome consumption jumped 13.3% compared with the same period last year. High-carbon ferro chrome consumption totaled 31,700 tonnes in June, down 0.9% frome 32,000 tonnes over the previous month but unchanged from a year earlier, putting the year-to-date total at 190,000 tonnes, up from 187,000 tonnes last year.
