Silicon manganese 6517 is currently pricing at RMB6,200-6,400/mt and RMB5,400-5,500/mt for 6014. High carbon ferromanganese 65 is now concentrating on 5,550-5,650/mt. Medium carbon ferromanganese 75C2.0 with low p containing is focusing on RMB8,100-8,200/mt while RMB8,400-8,500/mt for 78C2.0 as well as RMB8,800-9,000/mt for 78C1.5. Low carbon ferromanganese 80C0.7 is traded at RMB9,700-9,900/mt.

In terms of production, continued downturn sale further undermined manganese alloy suppliers’ confidence in south areas. Given high cost, operation rates in Guangxi, Hunan and Guixhou areas are still low with only around 30-40%. In fact, some steel mills also complained that limit spot supply for silicon manganese in south areas already allowed the company to open up new supply in north areas like Ningxia and Gansu provinces. By cheap power advantage, the situation in north area seems to much better than the south despite narrowing profits. Furthermore, some manganese alloy suppliers indicated that new .project would be put on schedule smoothly as expected.

In general, given steel mills still suffered trouble, it is predicated that manganese alloys market in China would likely to remain flat in the near future.
