According to Latin American Steel Association (ALACERO), the rolled steel imports from China to the region increased by 5% between January and August, reaching 5.7 millon tons.
 
In this August only, Latin American received 712,000 tons of rolled steel from China, an increase of 21% over the previous month (590,000 tons) and about the same level as last August (715,000 tons).
 
In the period of January-August of 2015, exports of rolled steel from China to worldwide grew by 28%, totaled at 65.4 million tons, of which 8.7% went to Latin America.
