Italy group Gilva iron and steel company (Ilva) plans to sell its Maghreb Services Center in Tunisia and Tunisacier mills. Maghreb produces 22,000 tons of steel plate per year and Tunisacier mill produces 200,000 tons of galvanized sheet per year.

Italy government started sale of Ilva on January 4 this year, the goal is to complete asset sales before the end of June 2016, including seven subsidiaries, a total of about €300 million.

In addition, Ilva’s crude steel production totaled about 4.7-4.8 million tons last year, about half of the crude steel production of finished material. The company has Europe's largest steel plant in Italy the southern city Taranto.
