Print[Ferro-Alloys.com] Western Areas N.L. (WSA.AU) Wednesday reported slightly lower mine production and sales for its fourth financial quarter despite record output from Flying Fox in Western Australia, as the miner switched to underground mining at its Spotted Quoll operations.
The company said it sold a total of 6,888 metric tons of nickel in concentrate over the period, down from 8,154 tons the previous quarter. Full-year sales totaled 26,280 tons, excluding 1,247 tons of sales made under an agreement with base metals miner Kagara Ltd. (KZL.AU).
Mine production was 7,270 tons of nickel in ore, down from 7,602 tons in the third quarter. Western Areas said full-year output totaled 31,102 tons.
