About 100,000 mt of #300 stainless steel output will be affected as a stainless steel plant in north-west China undertakes maintenance and as a steelmaker in Fujian province cuts production. 

Driven by losses and the market downturn, the plant will undergo maintenance for 50 days from mid-May.

The steelmaker in Fujian cut production from late March and is expected to resume operation by late April.

Monthly output of #300 stainless steel across China stood below one million mt.
