Print[Ferro-Alloys.com]According to statistics released by the US Department of Commerce, the US stainless import license totaled 109,067 tons in August 2012, falling slightly by 2.67% MoM from July's preliminary figures of 112,063 tons.
Among them, the imports of stainless cold rolled coils rose to 30,590 tons in August 2012 from 29,768 tons in July 2012; that of stainless hot rolled coils surged significantly by 50% to 17,793 tons.
It's analyzed that the sharp rise was driven by the imports from Italy, which exported 15,440 tons to the US in August 2012, in comparison of 9,198 tons in July 2012.
