Aluminum manufacturer pursues Q1 premium from Japan

A worldwide aluminum maker has offered Japanese purchasers a premium of $91 per ton for essential metal shipments amid the January to March quarter, down 12 percent from the current quarter, two sources straightforwardly associated with valuing talks said on Wednesday.

Japan is Asia's greatest aluminum merchant and the premiums for essential metal shipments it consents to pay each quarter over the London Metal Exchange (LME) money value set the benchmark for the locale.

For the October-December quarter, Japanese purchasers consented to pay a premium of $103 per ton PREM-ALUM-JP, down 22 percent from the earlier quarter to mirror a slide in Asian spot premiums in the midst of plentiful supply.
