[Ferro-Alloys.com] China’s wire rod producers kept their offers unchanged over the past week despite strong competition from abroad, with most of them having little interest in international orders amid steady domestic demand.

Export prices for Chinese plate held steady over the past week, though producers issued a wide range of offers due to their varied supply levels.

Demand for flat steel products in Turkey remained weak in October because of the decline in global prices, market participants told Fastmarkets on Tuesday, November 5.

Turkish exports of flat steel products declined by 21.8% year-on-year to 393,716 tonnes in September 2019, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).

This compares with a volume of 503,524 tonnes in the corresponding period of 2018, the institute said. The reason for decrease in exports was the lackluster demand.
