[Ferro-Alloys.com] JISCO Yuzhong Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., a major steel company in northwest China has built a processing line to deal with iron and steel scraps. It can recycle 350,000 tons of waste iron and steel per year.

JISCO Yuzhong Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., 20 kilometers east of Lanzhou City, has been exploiting new measures to fully use recycled iron and steel materials, to facilitate the green transformation and healthy development of the steel industry.

"The company has built a processing line of iron and steel scraps to deal with the scrap resources. At present, the processing capacity is 350,000 tons per year, which can deal with 40-50% of the company's waste steel. In this way, better conditions have been created to lower the energy consumption of iron and steel production." said Gao Yong, Vice General Manager JISCO Yuzhong Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.

The move comes as China is intensifying efforts to transform the energy-consuming steel industry for greener and high-quality growth.
