Indian producer JSW Steel's JSW Ispat Special Products (JISPL) has restarted operations of its blast furnace at its Raigarh plant in Chhattisgarh state.
The company's sinter plant, steel melt shop (SMS) at the Raigarh plant and SMS operations at the Raipur plant in Chhattisgarh also restarted on 14 November, it said.
JISPL had brought forward maintenance at its 950,000t/yr Raigarh plant on 21 June, which was expected to last 25 days but was extended on 20 July.
Its July-September production fell by 77pc from a year earlier to 30,000t.
JSW Steel announced the merger of JISPL with the company in May. It planned to expand production capacity to 1.2mn t/yr by the third quarter of this year. JISPL is a special steel products manufacturer catering to the seamless pipe, automobile and high-speed rail industries.argusmedia
