【Ferro-alloys.com】:Germany-based machine engineering company Sennebogen has opened a new steel plant in Hungary, expanding its capacity for steel assemblies and welded constructions.

The 29,000-square-meter production facility and offices in Liter in western Hungary will be operated by Sennebogen’s subsidiary, Termelés-Logistic-Centrum, or TLC.

The facility, which is energy sufficient thanks to a 2.4-MW onsite solar PV system, is designed to handle large and heavy components weighing up to 25 tons and has capacity for 20,000 tons of steel structures per year in its current expansion phase.

The plant features modern machine tools and machining centers for mechanical processing and flame and laser cutting, as well as an ergonomically sophisticated welding area for the production of welded structures and a paint shop equipped to the latest standards.

Sennebogen has been operating a larger steel plant at nearby Balatonfüred since 1996.

“Termelés-Logistic-Centrum is our most important supplier of steel assemblies,” said shareholder Walter Sennebogen. “With this investment in Hungary we are not only expanding our capacities to meet the growing demand, but also building reserves for the future.”

Sennebogen produces a range of industrial material handlers including cranes, crawlers, multiloaders and pick and carry machines. The manufacturer boasts purpose-built factory facilities in Germany, Hungary, the US, the UAE and Asia and has produced some 45,000 machines over the last 35 years.
