【Ferro-alloys.com】:Chrome producer Merafe has reported that its attributable ferrochrome production from the Glencore Merafe Chrome Venture in the fourth quarter ended December 31 was 75 000 t, compared with the 97 000 t produced in the fourth quarter of 2022.

The lower quarterly production resulted in a 22% year-on-year decrease in production for the full 2023 year to 300 000 t, from 384 000 t in 2022.

The company said the reduction in production was attributable to a planned pullback in response to market conditions. Only the company’s Lion smelter operated over the three-month high-electricity-demand winter season, which was a period of elevated power prices.
