[Ferro-Alloys.com] VanadiumCorp Resource Inc (TSX-V:VRB) told investors it has begun production at its first electrolyte plant, in Val-des-Sources, Québec.

The facility is now operational, following four weeks of process optimization, and it can produce up to 350,000 liters of electrolytes annually.

The electrolytes are essential for storing about 6.8 MWh of electrical energy in Vanadium Flow Battery (VFB) installations each year, it noted.

By entering the VFB supply chain, VanadiumCorp aims to provide high-purity vanadium electrolytes to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and, has strengthen its position in the renewable energy storage sector."Our team in Québec is to be commended on achieving production 12 months after the project decision was made,” CEO Paul McGuigan said.

“Collaboration with C-Tech Innovation has resulted in an optimum production plant.

“Now, the company can focus on marketing and our future expansion of electrolyte production in Québec.”

“Meanwhile, our field crews are poised to mobilize to the Lac Doré project to continue with fieldwork aimed at the mining and metallurgy of the exceptional V-Ti-Fe deposit."

The company, meanwhile, said it is actively welcoming inquiries from VFB OEMs looking for a reliable source of electrolytes.
