Jiangxi Copper Company Ltd.,China's leading copper producer, plans to stabilize its copper production capacity while boosting lead, zinc and rare earth production.
The company's annual copper production capacity will hit 900,000 tons by the end of this year.
An official of Jiangxi Copper made the remark at a recently held 2008 China International Copper Conference.
He said the company's wholly chartered smelting plant, Guixi Smelter, is expanding itself to bring Jiangxi Copper's gross production capacity up to 900,000 tons.
As China's leading copper producer, Jiangxi Copper was founded in 1997 and its current copper smelting capacity is 700,000 tons.
