It’s reported that Korea’s output of hot rolled coils totaled 2.44 million tons in August, falling by 13% from a month ago and decreasing by 16% year on year, according to data released by the Korea Iron & Steel Association (KOSA).
In the first eight months of this year, the country’s HRC output amounted to 21.54 million tons, falling by 5% year on year.
Industry sources indicated that the dip in HRC output was caused by Hyundai Steel’s output reduction in August.
