According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data, U.S. iron ore production in October 2020 was 3.82 million tons, up 6.1% from a month earlier, down 2.8% from a year earlier.  

That month, U.S. iron ore exports were 4.03 million tons, up 13.8% from a month earlier, down 12.4% from a year earlier.

From January to October 2020, U.S. iron ore production totaled 30.9 million tons, down 20.5% from a year earlier, while iron ore exports were 29.3 million tons, down 23.3% from a year earlier.
