Foreign media January 13 news: January 11,2021, Brazil Samaco (Samarco) achieved the first operation after the resumption of iron ore shipments.
Abut 75,000 tonnes of iron ore pellets will be shipped from Brazil to Europe, the Samako Joint Venture of BHP BHP and Brazil's Vale said.
The company resumed operations on December 23,2020, with production capacity restored production capacity, equivalent to 7-8 million tons of iron ore per year.
The company also suspended operations in November 2015, when the Samaco-Taiwei Mine Dam burst, killing 19 people, destroying many villages and causing extensive environmental damage. The accident is considered the worst environmental disaster in Brazil's history.
The company estimates that its iron ore production will return to pre-disaster levels of 22-24 million tonnes per year in 2029.
